Kris Gommeren
Co-fondateur // Co-Directeur général
Diplômé en 2002, spécialiste européen en médecine interne (2009) et urgences et soins intensifs (2018). Il a réalisé une thèse de doctorat portant sur les effets de l’inflammation systémique sur le coeur.
Responsable du service des urgences et des soins intensifs de la Clinique Vétérinaire Universitaire de la Faculté Vétérinaire de l’Université de Liège. Ancien président de la société Européenne d’urgences et de soins intensifs (EVECCS).
João Araujo
Co-fondateur // Co-Directeur général
Joao a obtenu son diplôme de Docteur en médecine vétérinaire à l’Université de Trap os Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) en 2006.
Il a fait sa dernière année pratique à l’hôpital vétérinaire de Porto et y a par la suite rejoint l’équipe d’urgences et de soins intensifs jusqu’en 2014.
Il a complété son parcours par une année post universitaire en Imagerie en 2007.
Joao participe fréquemment aux congrès nationaux et internationaux d’ECC dont il a été invité en 2016 à être membre du Conseil général de la Société européenne des urgences vétérinaires et des soins intensifs. Il est aussi souvent modérateur du Congrès européen (EVECCC) et du Congrès international (IVECCS).
Il a été volontaire à deux reprises pour des campagnes humanitaires (volontariat) en Afrique et est conférencier pour les pompiers et le grand public afin de sensibiliser aux sujets d’ECC.
En 2016, il a été élu à l’OMV (Organe statutaire national) où il occupe correctement le poste de trésorier du Northen OMV Council.

Pauline Jaillon
Coordinator // Coordinatrice clinique
Dr. Pauline Jaillon has been involved with the Animal Blood Bank Benelux since its creation in 2021, which she helped to launch. She worked two years in the Emergency and Critical Care Unit of the University Clinic of Liège, and this is what sparked her interest for hemotherapy.
Pauline places great importance on the relationship she builds with each donor and their owner, making every donation a moment of trust, exchange, and compassion.
She is also actively involved in training veterinarians in the BENELUX region to ensure optimal care for patients in need of transfusions
Coline Saint-Rémy
Veterinarian
Dr. Coline Saint-Rémy joined Animal Blood Bank Benelux at the end of 2024. It was during her studies, while following a particularly notable clinical case, that she became aware of the critical importance of hemotherapy. This experience instilled a genuine commitment in her, leading her to naturally invest herself within the blood bank. She pays particular attention to the well-being of donors, ensuring that each collection takes place under the best possible conditions.
Léonie Schram
Veterinary Assistant
Léonie graduated from the Haute Ecole Louvain en Hainaut in 2022 with a bachelors degree in Agronomy - Animal Technology, in veterinary assistant option. She joined the Emergency and Critical Care department at the University of Liège in June 2023 and joined the Animal Blood Bank of Benelux in September of the same year. Her work in intensive care shows her how big is the impact of hemotherapy on the dogs and cats who need it. In fact, she herself has a dog and a cat who donate blood.
